“Second Nature”

Obliquely* “hARTiculturalish”…

“Second Nature”, an exhibition of prints by Mark Dorf + paintings by Julian Lorber opens tonight at OUTLET Fine Art in Brooklyn

*…which reminds me of an intriguing book talk by Professor John Kay, on Obliquity:  Why Our Goals Are Best Pursued Indirectly, delivered in May 2010 [video and audio available at London School of Economics website]. I have listened to it more than once because I think he articulates an intuitive experience or phenomenon familiar to many people that is difficult to define or even be fully aware of. However, his ideas seem to be increasingly relevant to our rapidly changing ways of living and working today. Obliquity seems to be the new “direct” — whether we realize it and accept it or not.
